COVID-19 Disaster Payment

The COVID-19 Disaster Payment is available for eligible workers who lose hours due to the lockdown. This includes businesses that do not qualify for other support programs because they are not registered for GST.

People who have lost more than 20 hours a week will receive $750 and the payment for people who have lost less than 20 hours of work is $450 a week.

People on welfare who have lost more than eight hours of work a week will get a special disaster supplement of $200 a week.

The COVID-19 Disaster Payment payments will be administered through Services Australia and you will have to apply directly through MyGov.
